Things are definitely not exactly as they seem, and someone may be showing
off an exterior that's quite a bit prettier than what's really going on
inside. You're correct to be as suspicious as you are, but you shouldn't let
on just yet. Just smile and nod -- especially if it's work-related -- and
file away your feelings for future consultation. Getting energized over it
doesn't do anyone any favors.
