You may be starting to get an inkling that
a first impression you had of someone was right on target.
You gave him or her the benefit of the doubt,
and for a while there it seemed like you were right to do so.
Sometimes that works out because our perceptions aren't always
driven by intuition - sometimes they come from fears or past experiences.
But in this case you can see that you should have trusted your gut.
Don't blame yourself for giving the benefit of the doubt.
Just be more cautious in your dealings with this person now that you know.

你最近有個感覺，之前對於某人的第一印象完全正中紅心。
一開始在沒有任何依據的情況下，你決定姑且信任他／她，
有一陣子，似乎你這樣做是對的。
有時候，這樣的方式很好，因為我們對人事物的觀點並不完全是直覺性的
---有時候（偏見）是因為恐懼，或者是過去的經驗。
不過這次這個情形，你知道當初應該相信自己直覺的。
不要怪罪自己輕易地給予信任了。
既然現在看清了，以後跟這個人打交道時小心一點就好。

我認識新朋友的時候，很講究第一印象的。
不過因為知道自己是很主觀的人，
所以即使直覺上的覺得處不來，
還是會稍微容忍，看看情況再說，
不要一下子就把人剔除在外。
隨著年紀的增長，被騙過、利用過、背叛過幾次後
就從一開始的扣分制（大家都是好人！）
變成現在的加分制（you have to earn my respect）

這是一個有點可悲的轉變，總是要學會保護自已啊。
衝動型的羊羊好像很多都會這樣，
受過幾次傷後就變的骨子裡比較悲觀一點
（悲觀式的樂觀？？樂觀是建立在作最壞的打算之後，還是會期待最好的結果）
不過還好直覺的準確度跟心智成熟的程度目前是等比例成長的。
而好朋友們（很少ＸＤ）也可以回饋我的無條件信任。

我想benefit of the doubt其實是好的（在認定有罪之前，都要推定是無罪的）
不過要記得保護好自己啊！
