You will get out of a situation what you put into it. We have probably all
heard that advice at one time or another. The problem is that it doesn't
always seem to be true. Sometimes you can pour your heart and your energy
into something and feel like you reap no benefit whatsoever. It's an empty
feeling.
However, in the future - many years later - you can find some benefit that
you didn't see at first. You know you tried so there was nothing to regret,
and maybe you learned something that was instrumental. You will soon realize
a reward from something you thought had no reward.
