Life isn't a bowl of cherries. Years ago, grownups would use that line on
their children, telling them to expect some downs to go along with the ups of
life. It's sort of a negative way to approach each day, though - don't you
think so, Gemini? If we go out expecting to be disappointed, most likely we
will often create a disappointing situation. Isn't it better to open the door
each morning expecting "a bowl of cherries"? The worst that can happen is
that we'll be disappointed; but the best that can happen is that we'll be
rewarded for our optimism.
