Imagine for a moment that you are a film critic, and you are watching a film
that doesn't quite appeal to you. Perhaps you don't like the actors in the
leading roles. Maybe you don't like the setting where the film takes place.
Or maybe you aren't a fan of the genre. You still have to give an objective
opinion on the quality and entertainment value of the film. In essence, you
have to pretend to be someone else with someone else's preferences. You may
have to make a judgment call soon about something that isn't up your alley,
but if you can step outside your own awareness, you'll do fine.
