When a friend or a family member tells us about a problem they are
experiencing, we are looking at it from the outside, and usually, it won't
seem as bad to us as it does to them. That's because even though we can be
very empathic, we don't have the same level of involvement, fears and
worries they have, and we can look at it more realistically. Try to see a
problem you are going through now in the same way. Pretend someone else is
telling you about this problem. See, it really isn't all that bad. You
will figure out a way to rise above it.

當朋友或家人跟你說他們正在經歷的困難的時候，我們是旁觀者，那個難題通常對我
們來說好像不是當事人認為得那麼糟，這是因為雖然我們可以非常有同理心，但是我
們不像當事人那麼投入、恐懼和擔憂。試著用同樣的方式看待問題，好像你正在經歷
那個問題一樣，假裝現在是其他人在跟你討論那個問題。看吧，事情真的不是那麼糟，
你會想出辦法克服的。
